Hello Family!
Holy smokes this week
was SO hard. I don't know what it is, but this area has become totally dead for
us. Not for the Elders of course, they
just keep finding every week! Gah it is so frustrating. Gotta remember just because God is smiling on
someone else doesn't mean he's frowning on you, or something like that. I saw it on Pinterest once.
We actually pulled out
our bikes this week that is how desperate we are haha! Both of our tires were
flat that's how long it's been. I now know why Tuala refused to bike. There are hills EVERYWHERE. Steep, long, excruciating hills. To get
anywhere from our apartment it seems like it is just straight up. We did a lot of tracting this week and we did
find some potentials. So thank goodness
for that we just need to follow-up with them and hopefully somehow we will have
some investigators! We still have Lynda
who canceled her appointment this week due to sickness and wasn't able to
attend church either. :( Alton is still doing great though and we had a lesson
at the Henderson's this week. He is
planning on going to do baptisms at the temple in June!
Elder Zwick, a member
of the quorum of the Seventy visited our mission this week! On Wednesday he
gave a devotional to all the members of Ward Councils in 3 stakes. It was AWESOME. He totally chastised all the members in the
kindest and very tactful manner to have ward councils be more missionary
focused. He told them that the
missionaries spend too much time tracting and they find, but those that they
find very rarely make it to baptism, which is so entirely true! Remember all the people I've told you about
who have dropped us or we never get a hold of again? Him and his wife
shared amazing missionary stories, for example while Elder Zwick was on a
flight on Easter he got up and showed the flight attendants the #BecauseOfHim
video took down their address, sent the missionaries to them, and one has been
baptized! There are so many simple ways
to share as long as we have the courage to open our mouths.
We also had a northern
zone conference this Friday. It was from
9:30 am to a little after 4 pm. So it
was a full day of instruction and powerful spirit! As you can imagine it is hard to digest that all
at once. There were things said that I needed to hear so badly. Two things he said have stuck with me:
"What matters
most as an outcome of this mission is NOT measured."
"Never limit
yourself to what you think is your capacity."
My companion and I are
definitely enduring a trial of our faith right now. We need your prayers! Elder Zwick told us that the prophet himself
prayed for our mission in the temple on Thursday morning so you can imagine the
power that will bring! Miracles will
come.
