Hello,
Ya know when you have those
weeks when you feel like you're trying really hard, but things just continue to
suck? haha I had a hard time this week,
but things are on the upswing. It's hard
when you want to have your trainee to have a really great first 2 transfers but
things just never go right. But there
were some things that went right this week.
The quote in the
subject line came from Randy Terry. I've
mentioned him before. We were able to
see him Tuesday but unfortunately Mary had to work late and we didn't get the
time in for a full lesson. But her heart
has softened immensely.
Wednesday we had
dinner with the Collin's and invited the Galfords and the whole family came! Meaning
Brother Galford, Sister Galford's husband who is not a member and has not
wanted anything to do with anything came to dinner, and listened to the lesson.
It was amazing! After that we got a text from Sister Galford
that said, Cole just said he wants to start going to seminary. Those Collin's kids work miracles!! We tried
to get him to go at the beginning of the year and he wasn't interested, but
something touched his heart. I love the
Galfords so much!
We were also able to
teach Thomas this week in a member's home, the Monsons. He had been really sick but was feeling better
and so Brother Monson was able to go pick him up. We had a great lesson on the Sabbath day and
scripture study. He is so solid after we
commit him to do something he immediately starts thinking of ideas of how he
can live it. He's so solid. He will hopefully be baptized at the end of
November!
We've had dinner 3
times with the Janusik family. Sister
Janusik is an active member and her husband is not and her son who lives with
her is less active. They always disappear as soon as we start to share a gospel
message and never express that much interest but always have good visit with
them during dinner. Sister Janusik sent a text that said "I know they
don't think they are going anywhere with them, but the feeling in the home
changes when they are here and we always have a great discussion afterward, so
tell them to keep doing what they are doing." Goes to show that even when you think you are
doing nothing, there are impacts on your service you don't even know.
Met a man this week
that looked and talked exactly like the grandpa from "Meet the Robinsons."
S. Hogge and I had our
first argument this week. Over a glass dumbo figurine we found at the Habitat
for humanity restore. We both wanted it.
I won. 😎 jk she gave
it to me cause she's nice. 
The past 2 days we've
driven up to Fayetteville at 6:45 am and worked until about 3 pm. Saturday we went with the Winkley's and took
down two trees. We got our work orders
for a different tree but it had already been done so we drove around looking
for work. We found a man who said to go
to another house that had a tree down on it. We knocked on their door and the woman started
crying and hugged Bishop Winkley. It was
so neat. We spent our day clipping and
dragging branches out to the curb. Sunday
we all met at 8 am for sacrament meeting in our work clothes. It felt really weird but the spirit is still
the same.
We are both so tired
and sore, but it felt so good to give service and just stop worrying about the
every day problems of missionary life.
