Hey friends! So it hasn't been all that long since I emailed
so I don't have much to report on but here are some cool things
- Tracting and someone opened the
door and said,"I know who you are, you're the Mormons!" But said
it in an excited tone which is much more rare. Turns out she was baptized
when she was 8 with her mom, but after the missionaries left they went
inactive. She just moved here about a year ago and we don't have her
records. She was so so nice and wants to come to church, but she has a
different church she goes to now. She
is going through a rough time right now because she lost her job, so we
just said a prayer with her on her door step and the spirit was really
strong. We gave her a pamphlet and on the back there's a little picture of
the Book of Mormon and she said "The book is still blue it looks the
same!" haha. Hopefully, we
will get to see her again and teach and baptize her family! 😁
- Had another lesson with Kylie her
kids were home so it was a pretty hectic lesson. BUT she said a prayer out
loud for the first time!! So that was awesome. She is progressing but
slowly. 🙏
- It was about 8:30 and we both felt
prompted to visit this active member couple, who is expecting a baby. They
said we could drop by and we shared a short lesson with them. As a mission we have adopted the book
"The Power of Everyday Missionaries" (which you all should order
and read right now) and teaching our active members principles from the
book so that they can become better member missionaries cause they are
struggling pretty hard core with that right now. Anyways they are an AWESOME couple and
the spirit was super strong in their home. Before we left Sister Scherbel thanked us
for coming and said that she really needed it. ❤
- Went on exchange with the Raleigh
4 sisters and I was with Sister Costa who is from Brazil. She was supposed to come out like 6
months ago but couldn't get her visa until now, so she has been serving
her mission in Brazil. She came
right in time for the snow storm haha she has been so cold! She is super cute though and is learning
English, but is doing a great job! She told me "You are so confident,
but that might be because you know how to speak English" hahaha
- Had a lesson with Sharon! She is SO prepared. We tracted into her S. Herring's first
day here and we were finally able to get in touch with her. She told us
that she let us come back because she's been really trying to follow
promptings from the spirit and she felt a prompting to invites us back. Literally the best. She just recently got married and is
super open and interested in religion. She goes to a non-denominational church. She told us she wanted to talk to her
husband and see if he would be interested as well! Golden. 👌
Alright well I am outta time again, we are on our way to a zone
activity. S. Herring and I have to
instruct AGAIN this week, we already did last weeks so prayers that that goes
well. Also prayers for Alex and Alexus
their great-grandma passed away and for Danita.
I love you all! xoxo Sister Dearden
