Wanted: Two Sister Mormon Missionaries for Suspicious Activities (aka spreading the Gospel)

Hello from the other side.

Didn't you just love conference?? I was not prepared for it to be over.  There was just too much goodness.  Something that struck me this conference was how much love that was felt.  You could feel the love that the apostles have for each other and all the other leaders.  You could feel the love that everyone had for our Prophet.  And especially the love they have for us.  Elder Holland's final remarks were so powerful and wonderful. That moment with President Uchtdorf after the refugee talk? That definitely pulled at the heartstrings. One of the over arching themes I think was to just not give up. That everything is going to be worth it in the end.

Favorite quotes:

"Choose the harder right." -President Monson

"Sometimes it's just hard for me to think about Jesus!" -Elder Waddell

"The sheep is worthy of divine rescue simply because it is loved by the Good Shepherd." -Dieter F. Uchtdorf.

"To be worthy does not mean being perfect." Elder Gong

"We get credit for trying even if we don't always succeed." Elder Holland

This week was a pretty good one!  We lucked out in finding 6 new investigators after a good majority of our previous one's dropped us!  The Lord is so merciful. Diamond, Melissa, Jennifer and Michael all let us know that they were no longer interested in the "mormon religion.”  After pouting for a bit and getting ice cream, we moved forward.  I went on another exchange to the Spanish area.  It is so funny how much you can pick up on what is going on without knowing a lick of Spanish.  I am learning a couple more phrases though!  Like how to say prayer and Holy Ghost haha

One of the most exciting things that happened this week was getting the police called on us!!  Have I mentioned how much people really don't like us here? haha  So we had just started tracting in the apartment complex where the elders live.  Two people weren't interested, and another wouldn't answer the door cause she didn't know who we were, but we wished her a good evening.  We then were let in by this nice old lady, who let S. Tuala use her bathroom.  We had just sat down and were doing introductions and everything when I big bang-bang-bang comes from the door.  The lady was like oh this is so unusual nobody ever knocks on my door! Open's it up.  It's the police who got a call about "suspicious activity." hahaha Good golly.  They were some of the nicest police officers luckily!  The apartment complex was "no soliciting," so they told us we couldn't do it, but we can go to town hall and get some type of permission.  They took down our information cause they have to. So I can officially say I've had the police called on me

For Saturday's sessions we watched conference at the Schnegelbergers where their 5-year-old daughter covered us with stickers.  Then the afternoon at the Jacksons. Sunday morning with the Harness's.  The pictures are of their backyard!  So beautiful, and Sunday afternoon at the Winterton's.

This gospel is so good and it is so worth it.  President Monson's testimony was so short but so complete.  We know who we are and where we are going.  It all depends on our choices, and if we choose Christ then we will find lasting peace and happiness.  I love ya'll!

Love, Sister Dearden
